Abstract

Harmonization of the legislation of the Republic of Moldova with the European one, in the context of European integration, requires, among other things, the application of measures to protect victims of crime. One of the means of such protection is the possibility for the victim to obtain legal assistance, including state-guaranteed assistance, when necessary. In some cases, in the author's opinion, legal assistance to victims of crime should be mandatory, entailing the obligation of state bodies to ensure the appointment of an ex officio lawyer to the victim.
