Abstract

PrefaceThe Fourth International Seminar on Science Education (ISSE-2018) is a major opportunity to provide a platform for academics, students, researchers, and practitioners to share problems and their solutions on major science and science education trends, especially Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK). It also as a scientific event to gain collaboration among Indonesian as well as international participants. The ISSE-2018 organized by Department of Science Education, Graduate School is successfully held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, during October 13th, 2018. The ISSE-2018 was a successful event in the International Seminar on Science Education (ISSE) conference series, previously held all in Yogyakarta, Indonesia in 2015, 2016 and 2017. The ISSE-2018 theme is “Emphasizing Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) in Science Education for Supporting 21st Century Skills Standard”.This volume of Journal of Physics: Conference Series by IOP Publisher consists of the peer-reviewed papers presented at the ISSE-2018. There are 109 papers that have been carefully peer reviewed and selected from 153 submissions to the conference. They are classified into four sections:Section 1: Biology and Biology EducationSection 2: Chemistry and Chemistry EducationSection 3: Physics and Physics EducationSection 4: Science and Science EducationThe success of the ISSE conference series, in general, and ISSE-2018, in particular, is due to the support of many people i.e. Steering Committee members, Program Committee members, Organizing Committee members, authors, presenters, participants, keynote speakers, student committee, and people in other various roles.
