Abstract

The ever increasing demand for energy and mineral resources has created an equally large demand for data pertaining to these resources. The basic data requirements are for location, quantity and quality of a resource. Although basic data requirements are easy to define, the acquisition of such data is difficult and at present data is inadequate to meet the needs of international resource analysis. The inadequacy of data can be categorized in three main areas: availability, credibility and applicability.
