Abstract

This paper describes KDD's network quality management methodology for two main services; the international public switched telephone network and private leased circuit services. The switched network is shared by many customers and the private leased circuit is used by dedicated customers. However, a similar QOS management process has been basically applied to these two services; a survey of customer requirements, advanced operation and improvement of the existing network. In this process, one of the most important factors is a cooperation with foreign counterparts and customers, because an end to end international service is jointly provided and maintained by 2, 3 or 4 carriers and the quality is related to customer behavior.
