Abstract

AbstractInternational migration and investment are based on the underlying markets for labor and capital. Income redistribution occurs with migration for the migrants and those in the host and source countries. International labor and capital movements redistribute income. International migration has shaped many of the countries. International investment has stimulated most successful economic development.The main points of this chapter are:• International migration arises from wage differences across countries• International capital movements are the result of international differences in the return to capital• Income redistribution occurs with international movements of labor and capital• The pattern of international trade adjusts with international factor movements
