International Implementation of a Proficiency-Based Stepwise Endovascular Curricular Training in Daily Practice

Abstract

PROSPECT (proficiency-based stepwise endovascular curricular training) is an endovascular proficiency-based training program for surgical trainees combining electronic learning and simulation training to teach basic endovascular skills. A single-center, randomized controlled trial showed superior real-life endovascular performance for the PROSPECT trainees compared with the traditionally trained trainees. We sought to determine whether the positive results of PROSPECT can be reproduced in real life and identify the associated effects, facilitators, and barriers to implementation.
