Abstract

The book “The Fundamental Concept of Crime in International Criminal Law” was written by Iryna Marchuk, Dr. Iryna Marchuk is an associate professor of international and criminal law. Her main research interests lie in the fields of international criminal law, public international law and international dispute settlement. Iryna was previously affiliated with a number of international courts, such as the International Criminal Tribunalfor the former Yugoslavia, the Special Court for Sierra Leone and the International Criminal Court. Iryna's book The Fundamental Concept of Crime in International Criminal Law: A Comparative Law Analysis (Springer 2013) gives particular thought to the catalyzing impact of the criminal law theory developed in major world legal systems upon the crystallization of the substantive part of international criminal law.
