Abstract

The purpose of the ICP is to advance psychology and the application of its scientific findings throughout the world. To this end the ICP seeks to strengthen international bonds and to widen, deepen, and clarify channels of communication between psychologists. Psychologists in any country of the world can become members of the ICP. Currently, psychologists from six continents and over 80 countries are members. The Board consists of democratically elected Officers and Directors-atLarge. The ICP's Presidents from 1985-1997 have come from Canada, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, The Netherlands, Norway, and the USA. The ICP has Area Chairs in most of the countries where there are members. Area Chairs are appointed for the purpose of promoting the goals of the ICP in specified geographic
