International Conference on Computing and Applied Informatics 2016

Abstract

INTRODUCTIONOn behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am delighted to welcome all participants to the International Conference on Computing and Applied Informatics (ICCAI) 2016 which took place from December 14 to December 15. This is an inaugural conference in the field of Computing and Applied Informatics which was held in Medan, Indonesia. With a very exciting program, it had become a premier forum for discussion, dissemination and achievement of research in the related fields.Nearly 300 academics, researchers, practitioners and presenters from 7 countries have gathered and 215 papers have been submitted in this year’s conference. Each paper was reviewed with tight criteria from our invited and voluntary multi-national reviewers. Based on the review results, 100 papers have been accepted, which lead to an acceptance rate of 46.51%. All accepted papers were orally presented in 3 technical sessions and was published in the conference proceeding.The conference is a prestigious event that would not been successful without extensive effort from many volunteers. I would like to express my sincere appreciation and thanks to all participants and supporters, especially the members of Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (Fasilkom-TI), Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMIPA), Faculty of Engineering (FT) and The International Affairs Office of University of Sumatera Utara. I would also like to thank the keynote speakers, Prof. Hiromi Homma, Prof. Madya, Dr. Rahmita Wirza O.K. Rahmat, who were willing to meet the ICCAI invitation. My sincere gratitude to Rector of University of Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. Runtung Sitepu, M,Hum and Dean of Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Opim Salim Sitompul, M.Sc.I would also like to give my appreciation to many others who are involved in the success of this event, including the reviewers, student volunteers, and staffs at the University of Sumatera Utara.Lastly, on behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to welcome you to our first international conference on computing and applied informatics, ICCAI 2016.
