Abstract
Aim: The Cepheid Xpert Enterovirus (EV) real-time PCR assay on Cepheid Xpert DX instrument was evaluated for use by the NSW Health Pathology Microbiology Department Wollongong for the rapid detection of EV in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) specimens collected from patients presenting with suspected acute viral meningitis to Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) facilities.
