Abstract

Internal stresses in the dislocation wall structure of persistent slip bands (PSBs) predicted by the classical Mughrabi's composite model [1] are compared with the stress field produced by the corresponding arrangement of straight edge interface dislocations. The analytical method used allows for separation of the long- and short-range stress components. The presented two-dimensional calculations certify that the original one-dimensional model accounts for the long-range internal stresses in an acceptable way.
