Abstract

Vacancies, interstitial atoms and dislocations are well known examples of crystal lattice defects which are sources of internal stress. In this chapter we give a general outline of the theory of internal stress in nonlocal elasticity. Point defects, which are sources of internal stress as well as inhomogeneities, are considered in detail.KeywordsPoint DefectInternal StressElastic EnergyInternal StrainElastic ComplianceThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
