Abstract

This study will contribute to the understanding of the relationship between Energy and Environmental Sustainability (EES) Knowledge, Attitudes and Behaviours in order to recommend actions to be undertaken by the Notre Dame University - Louaize using Lean Management techniques. A survey-based analysis was conducted on a random sample of 458 NDU - Louaize Internal Stakeholders (NDUIS) - students, faculty and staff. A linear regression was performed on the data collected. The adjusted R-square was 21%. The results showed that there was no causal relationship between EES Knowledge and Behaviour for NDUIS. As for EES Attitudes, they positively impacted Behaviour. Since 75% of the respondents were students, a particular attention was given to them in the analysis. From the lean management perspective, all EES initiatives were associated with Lean tools. Little literature exists on the Lean Management aspect of energy and environmental sustainability on university campuses, hence the originality of this study.
