Abstract

The angular correlation between the positive and negative electrons produced by gamma -ray internal pair conversion is an index of the multipolarity of gamma -ray transition. The possible advantages possessed by a certain desigin of 180 deg flat pair spectrometer are pointed out, which may be used for measuring this correlation under conditions of good energy resolution, of the onder of 1%. Modfications of an existing pair spectrometer are being made for this purpose. (B.O.G.)
