Abstract
Abstract We utilize theoretical concepts from the Inverse Scattering Series (ISS) formulation to develop internal multiple elimination algorithms for land seismic data. ISS-based methods are fully data-driven, therefore, they do not require any subsurface knowledge. Internal multiples from all possible generators are computed and adaptively subtracted from the input data. These methods are equally well suited for pre- and post-stack applications, and are effective even when there is little or no moveout difference between primary reflections and multiples. The performance of the ISS approach is demonstrated using realistic synthetic and field datasets from the Arabian Peninsula.
