Abstract

In this research, we aimed to encourage a common recognition of object ownership on the part of agents and humans to elicit more human empathy for the agent. To do so, we propose an ownership-desire model in which the agent's behaviors are generated based on its internal states of attention, interest and desire for ownership. We conducted an experiment to verify the effectiveness of the designed behaviors corresponding to our proposed model, and the results showed that all behaviors corresponding to the internal states were perceived as we designed. We conjectured that the behavioral durations of the agent's attention and interest would affect the guesses of the agent's internal states.
