Abstract

A high-resolution Ge(Li) X-ray spectrometer was used to measure the K conversion coefficients of the 24.87 keV M3 transition in 58Co and the 58.57 keV M3 transition in 60Co. The values found, 2030 ± 90 and 43.1 ± 1.8 respectively, are approximately 10 % greater than theoretical predictions for pure M3 transitions. Predictions of various atomic models agree closely among themselves.
