Abstract

A direct fistula between the internal carotid artery (ICA) and the uperior ophthalmic vein (SOV) bypassing the cavernous sinus has ever been described in the literature to date. This extremely rare rterio-venous connection can closely mimic clinically and angioraphically a carotid-cavernous sinus (CC) fistula. In this article, e present an interesting case of a direct ICA–SOV fistula that was uccessfully treated at our institution.
