Abstract

AbstractAn intermolecular nitrene insertion catalyzed by heterobimetallic Co−Pd complexes is reported herein. In a previous report, paddlewheel complex CoPd(OAc)4 was found to have similar reactivity with the well‐known catalyst, Rh2(OAc)4 in the intramolecular C−H amination. For the more challenging intermolecular reaction, biscarboxylate ligand esp acid was used for the Co−Pd core. The reactivity of CoPdesp2 was compared with its dirhodium counterparts in the aziridination of cyclic alkenes. Also, a biscarboxylate, HPH acid with the skeleton of xanthene was synthesized and tested on the dirhodium core in the aziridination reactions. Both of Rh2HPH2 and Rh2esp(OAc)2 were found to be competent catalysts in the intermolecular aziridination of cyclic alkenes.
