Abstract

A new cocrystalline that contains C 60 and the anti-formed metal complex of octaethylporphyrin (OEP) is reported. The structure of nickel octaethylporphyrin in 2Ni II (OEP).C 60 .2C 6 H 5 Cl is the anti-formed configuration, with the four ethyl groups of the nickel octaethylporphyrin portions lying on either the same and the opposite sides of the porphyrin plane toward the C 60 . The fullerene is unusually located in the closest approach to the nickel atom, involving 5:6 carbon ring junction of C 60 . The intermolecular interactions of complexes with the anti-formed metal octaethylporphyrins in the cocrystallines containing C 60 are described.
