Abstract
AbstractUsing the thermoacoustic data the mean free lengths (Lf) as a function of temperature are estimated for certain members of the homologous series of alkoxy benzylidene butylanilines with m = 2 to 7 except 3, in their isotropic, mesophases as well as at and in the immediate vicinity of the phase transition temperatures. From these studies it is observed that the mean free lengths also exhibit odd‐even effect.
