Abstract

Budd-Chiari syndrome is very rare in infancy, and in most cases the causes are unknown. We have a case of congenital anteromedial diaphragmatic hernia in infancy. Contrast-enhanced helical computed tomography (CEHCT) revealed that the herniated anteromedial site of the liver induced obstruction of the inferior vena cava (IVC) and main blood stream steal to the collateral vessels. We present an extremely rare infantile case of Budd-Chiari syndrome caused by a congenital anteromedial diaphragmatic hernia.
