Abstract

Objectives: Postprandial hyperglycemia (PPG) and intermittent hypoxia relevant to sleep apnea, which often coexists in patients with metabolic syndrome, are risk factors of cardiovascular disease. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of intermittent hypoxia on left ventricular (LV) remodeling due to PPG, and to evaluate the efficacy of acarbose, an α-glucosidase inhibitor, in lean mice.
