Abstract

This paper studies the interlinking converter operation in the hybrid microgrid. Hierarchical control, i.e., primary and secondary, is implemented to control the hybrid microgrid. The primary control is performed using droop control for AC and DC Bus, whereas the secondary control is used to restore frequency and voltages of AC and DC section, respectively. The hybrid droop is used along with the low pass filter for the interlinking converter to balance the per unit power in AC and DC sections. The simulation study verifies that the hybrid microgrid can be analyzed as two area power system network connected with a tie line. The AC section is considered as one area and DC as another, whereas the interlinking converter is characterized as a tie line between the AC and DC sections.
