Abstract
Recent experimental data indicate that, along with the well-developed Hall plateau, the diagonal resistivity ( R xx ) emerges as an anomalous peak when the parallel magnetic field B ∥ crosses over a certain critical value B ∥ * in the bilayer quantum Hall system at ν = 1 . We propose the soliton lattice scenario explaining this phenomenon.
