Interlayer effects in Hg-high- Tc-cuprates under high pressure

Abstract

Measurements of T c max and d T c max/d p for homological series of HgBa 2Ca n−1 Cu n O 2 n+2+ δ superconductors were carried out for the samples with n=1–6 sublayers in the unit cell. The experimental results are compared with the predictions of the theory, developed by Wheatley et al. [Nature 333 (1988) 121; Phys. Rev. B 37 (1988) 5897] for the interlayer tunnelling of the holon pairs. We review the theory and apply it to n>4 cases and show the agreements and disagreements of theoretical predictions with experimental results.
