Abstract
AbstractFollowing the success of transforaminal approach in lumbar endoscopic discectomy, interlaminar approach was first described in 2006. The efficacy and safety of interlaminar approach were solidly proven by the randomized control trial in 2008 by Ruetten et al. In meta-analysis comparing interlaminar and transforaminal approaches, the clinical outcomes were similar, but the operative and fluoroscopy time were significantly shorter in the interlaminar group. Currently, most of the interlaminar studies were limited to L5/S1 level. In this chapter, the detail of interlaminar endoscopic lumbar discectomy is discussed.KeywordsProlapsed intervertebral discDiscectomyEndoscopyInterlaminarLumbar
