Abstract

The results of theoretical and experimental analyses of the interior ballistics of a powder water cannon are presented. A mathematical model of the process is constructed and the calculations for a specific installation are presented. The fluid flow and powder combustion are considered in the quasi-one-dimensional and quasi-stationary approximations, respectively. The pressure of the fluid and powder gases is measured in various sections of the installation. The theoretical and experimental results agree fairly closely.
