Abstract

Abstract When a case has a foreign aspect, the usual interim remedies such as summary judgment, interim payment, interim injunctions, and freezing orders will potentially be available. Sometimes the foreign element will not affect the remedy. In other cases, it will have an impact on whether the remedy is granted or in what form. It may be possible to obtain a remedy of this type from a foreign court in order to assist the English proceeding see by freezing assets in a foreign country. Finally, if there are proceedings in a foreign country, interim remedies may be available in the English courts to assist, or impede, those proceedings.
