Abstract
Abstract The following compounds: TlCl3.L3, TlBrCl2.L3, TlBr3.L3, TlBr2Cl.L3, TlIBr2.L2, TlI3.L2, TlI2Br.L2, TlI2Cl L2and TlIBrCl.L2(where L = 1-ethylimidazole) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses. All the solids are monomers and they behave as non-electrolytes in solution. Their 1H NMR and IR spectra were studied, with particular attention on the Tl-X stretching vibration modes, and possible molecular structures for the complexes are proposed.
