Abstract

We compare high-resolution spectra of the QSOs Q1623+269 (77) and Q1623+268 (78). The objects have redshifts z/sub em/ = 2.518 and 2.605, respectively, and are separated by 173'' on the plane of the sky. The corresponding linear separation at zroughly-equal2.5 lies between 1 and 2 Mpc, depending on the cosmological model.
