Abstract

Interferons are essential in the cancer immunoediting process. Interferon induced protein with tetratricopeptide repeats 1 (IFIT1) is an interferon stimulated protein that is involved in the regulation of translation. It has been shown to mediate radiation and chemotherapy resistance in cancer cells in vitro. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the prognostic and clinical and pathologic significance of IFIT1 protein expression in patients with breast cancer treated with BCS+RT.
