Abstract

The surface microtopography arising from the 35° domain walls in single crystals of lithium niobate has been studied in detail by optical and multiple-beam interferometric techniques. The a domain bands produce a change in level on the (10.0) surface. The surface angle between two adjacent a domains is found to be nearly 2° 18 minute, the calculated value being 2° 24 minute.
