Abstract

The multi-band orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MB-OFDM) is an ultra wideband (UWB) technology that can transmit information at the maximum data rate of 480 Mb/s. When the simultaneous operating piconets (SOP) are located closely, the symbol collisions are expected to occur among the symbols transmitted over the same sub-band at the same time. This interference will decrease throughputs and increase the error rate of the UWB system. We propose an interference mitigation method that changes the time-frequency code (TFC) number of transmitter for the desired piconet according to the packet error rate (PER) of the two TFCs colliding. This proposed method can reduce the symbol collisions of SOP interference effectively.
