Abstract

Synopsis Very low concentrations of glucose were found when studying plasma samples obtained from some chicks suffering from fatty liver and kidney syndrome. This was due, in part, to interference in the glucose assay method by raised concentrations of urate in the plasma. Four techniques for the accurate assay of plasma glucose, in the presence of high urate concentrations, were investigated; the method based on the procedure of Morley et al. (1968) proved to be most satisfactory of those tested.
