Abstract

Nowadays, the implementation of Smart meter (SM) system in real life is more and more used widely in television white-space (TVWS) band. However, the interference from SM devices to digital television (DTV) system is a big problem when having an ambition of using this bandwidth as secondary users (SU). In addition, power allocation (PA) and channel selection (CS) are considered and discussed with many proposed approaches. In this paper, we propose the methods to prevent emission interference from SM system while achieving the best performance. In order to increasing the transmission performance, the optimization problems are defined with maximum channel capacity for transmission and minimum interference from SM system to DTV system. An assignment method called Hungarian algorithm (HA) is proposed to solve the channel assignment for SM system that warrants the fitness objective constraints.
