Abstract

In this paper, we aim to evaluate the interfacial adhesion strength between ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) coating layer and PET (Poly-Ethylene Terephthalate) substrate. To evaluate the interfacial adhesion strength, we focused on the buckling phenomena of the coating layer during simple tensile tests. During the tensile tests of PET/ITO specimen, the buckling induced delamination occurred on the coating layer. These phenomena are related to the interfacial adhesion strength and we evaluated the interfacial adhesion strength by considering the energy balance during the buckling induced delamination and cracking.
