Abstract

The simultaneous measurement of current, mass and motional resistance magnitudes allows explaining the electrochemical cation insertion process during successive voltammograms around the Prussian Blue ⇄ Everitt's Salt system in an aqueous solution of CsCl. There are two different ways for entering cesium to the porous structure of Prussian Blue: one, enters chemically as CsCl by a spontaneous substitution of inner water molecules of the interstitial water cluster and, also can enter as counter-ion during the first cathodic scan of the electrochemical stabilisation process of Prussian Blue.
