Abstract
The interfacial reaction of Stellite 6 alloy with CuO at 1200 °C in pure argon was investigated. The bubbling phenomenon was observed during the reaction. The results show that the reaction produced solid oxides (CoO, Cr2O3, SiO2, MnO2 and CoCr2O4/NiCr2O4/Fe3O4) and pure copper, as well as possible CO and CO2 gases. The product gases and oxides caused holes and cracks in the sample.
