Abstract
Two layered dielectric superlattices are formed out of a periodic repetition of two different dielectric slabs. The interface response theory is applied for the first time to such an infinite superlattice and provides the corresponding response function associated with the electromagnetic field, from which all the physical properties of such materials can be derived. The response function for a semi-infinite two-layered superlattice in contact with another semi-infinite homogeneous dielectric is also given here for the first time and in closed form.
