CAT [communication accommodation theory] in directing research on interethnic communication / describe the findings of research guided by Cat and the value of developing a more comprehensive understanding of situational factors in communication accommodation / in order to function effectively and happily in a new culture, people must gain cultural skills and knowledge about the communication-based norms that facilitate daily interactions with people in all aspects of the host culture.
