Abstract

Coaching psychology is informed by knowledge and ideas of different interrelated disciplines. This chapter has argued in favour of relevant and related interdisciplinary knowledge and practical applications to deliver successful coaching outcomes for family businesses. The focus is to identify how interdisciplinary contributions to coaching are leading to the development of transferable skills. A selection of related discipline-based approaches is included to support the development of a rich practice-based knowledge platform and transferable skills for application to coaching practices. The main attraction of the chapter is a selection of real-life case studies and practical applications of, and top tips for, interdisciplinary approaches and transferable skills. The chapter has provided relevant activities and assessments for coaching practitioners to use in their own practices.
