Abstract

The article gives a contribution to the translation of texts containing intercultural differences. To this intent methods developped within comparative linguistics are proposed, taking account of the important notion of tertium comparationis. Examples are given for the address terms in different languages and from French and German text types (genres). Some conclusions are discussed for translation studies and for the teaching of foreign languages.
