Abstract

We present and discuss the results of qualitative research based on a case study involving undergraduate students in biology from a public university in the State of Bahia, Brazil. The objective was to identify the influence of practical experiences involving ethnobiology applied to science teaching on intercultural dialogue into the initial training of biology teachers. After exposure to activities involving ethnobiology, it was requested to the undergraduate biology teaching students, the construction of narratives revealing the influences of the ethnobiology in their formation as future teachers. Thematic categories generated from data analysis lead us to conclude that the undergraduate students in biology teaching carried out reflections that allowed them to construct opinions with meanings that should influence their pedagogical practices with intercultural dialogue.
