Abstract
1. Susceptibility to ICC depends to a considerable extent on the character of the corrosive medium, other conditions being equal. 2. Steel 000Kh20N20S5 is not susceptible to ICC after AM and D tests (GOST 6032-58), but is susceptible to ICC in a more highly oxidizing medium. 3. Brittleness and susceptibility to ICC are induced by precipitation of intermetallic phase. 4. Steel 000Kh20N20S5 is recommended for welded structures if it is heat treated after welding.
