Abstract

We consider the damage of power equipment made of stainless austenitic steels. We have established that intercrystalline corrosion cracking in the near-weld zone of welded joints of this steel is attributable to the interaction of three factors: a certain degree of sensitization of the basic metal, high stresses that are greater than the plastic limit of the material, and enhanced oxygen concentration in the heat carrier.
