Abstract

Transition Metal Trichalcogenides In article number 2208702, Masaya Fujioka and co-workers successfully intercalate ions into 1D structural transition metal trichalcogenides with a trigonal prismatic structure, leading to a 1D structural intercalation compound with an octahedral structure through a quasi-amorphous phase. This unique amorphous phase with 1D order has the potential to exhibit various functions depending on the ion concentration. Here they show that the two crystal phases with trigonal prismatic and octahedral structures are connected via a quasi-amorphous phase.
