Abstract

An analytical expression for the light interband absorption coefficient in parabolic GaAs quantum dot in the presence of codirected electric and magnetic fields is obtained. An analytical dependence of the absorption threshold frequency on values of electric and magnetic fields is determined. It is shown that application of electric field makes the selection rules for the dipole transitions obsolete at the field direction.
