Abstract
This research tries to introduce a notion of an interactive programme for teaching the Glorious Quran sciences syllabus at the Open University of Sudan using computers, the programme includes four sections: The first section (lessons) first: Perfection (Tajweed) lessons: interactive interpretation lessons with sound in a broadcasting and devised versions, with questions appearing during the display for the learner, all this to check his/her understanding and the follow-up for the coming material, in answering these questions the learner is either to continue or step back one episode.Secondly: readings lessons include the explanation of grammar rules, the origins of the seven readings in sound and picture, by presenting practical examples. The second section: is the practical application on the holy book, at the stage of Tajweed: on clicking at any letter from ascertain verse (Aaya) appears : A. The correct pronunciation for the letter together with a video for its articulation and its most accurate pronunciation. B. The rules for Tajweed which must be applied, for example (the Consonant Noon which is silent), together with the rule, and more examples. When testing a certain verse, the verse must be read and the rules it contains are clarified. At the stage of reading the programme reads the verse or the verses together with the choice of the reciter. At the stage of interpretation, the programme screens the interpretation of the verse being chosen, in addition, the programme is equipped with a number of different interpretations. At the stage of reading, the learner chooses a certain verse and chooses one of the seven readings (Qiraat) so that the verse is read in one of these readings. The third section: memorization: (learning by heart) the learner decides a certain number of verses from one of the chapters (surah) and the programme repeats one of two choices of readings:- either to repeat the verse alone for a number of times then to move to the following verse or to read the verses and repeat them collectively . The fourth section: the Tests: - the learner chooses a number of lessons that he wants to be tested on. The programme sets a test of different kinds: multipule choice, true false, matching, and fill in the blanks. The programme keeps track of the learners scores of the tests. This programme combined scientific and applied characteristics which made it effecitive for teaching the Quran Science course, since its does not concentrate on implementing theoretical concepts only. It subsidise it with modern designed methodologies and this is noticed in the role of the user, his /her interaction, and participation in the programme.
