Abstract
Abstract The effects of 4 rates of mono-calcium phosphate and 4 rates of gypsum applied to a previously lightly top-dressed irrigated pasture were determined over aperiod of 3 years. Phosphate alone and sulphate alone gave some yield responses but there were large positive interactions on herbage yield and on percentage of white clover and of perennial ryegrass. The percentages of cocksfoot and timothy were decreased by phosphate and sulphate respectively. The yield of cocksfoot was increased by phosphate and by sulphate, that of timothy only by sulphate.
